Are you the Buyer?

Updated: Jan 3, 2020

A house should be seen as a place that you feel both a metaphorical foundation and physical one can be established. I have compiled a list of the four things that are of great importance to keep in mind when it comes to beginning your home search.

1. Credit Score, not just a number: A credit score is defined as "...a number assigned to a person that indicates to lenders their capacity to repay a loan." When you sit down with a mortgage company, they will determine the loan amount based on the terms, interest rates, and the repayment schedule you can stick to.

2. What payment are you looking for?: How much can you put down and what is the monthly budget you are looking at. Prioritizing your path to afford your dream home and all the expenses that will follow as you prepare to settle.

3. Type of Financing: Cash, FHA (Federal Housing Authority), Conventional, and VA are all outlets that can be taken when it comes to financing your home for various interests.

4. Location, Location, Location!: As much fun as it is looking for your perfect home, your community and surroundings can play into your best fit. Schools, store outlets, available services, neighborhoods, entertainment/play areas are all important to consider.

5. Home Criteria: Bedroom, Garage, Bathrooms, and other add-ons to your home are also a good thing to look into. Whether you want to have space for many vehicles or a certain amount of backyard space, bring it up to your agent to be on the lookout for.
